This project highlights the potential risks of using tissue helix equipment and suggests using Grasping Forceps as a safer alternative. The animated presentation is aimed at GI specialists and is intended for publication in Video GIE, the official video journal of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Additionally, a vertical version has been created for use on social media. The complete article and video can be found at Endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty using mixed-tooth grasping forceps as an alternative to the tissue helix.
Session One: Demonstrating Risks
The first segment demonstrates how the gallbladder and peritoneum can be inadvertently grasped when using traditional helix equipment.
Session Two: Showcasing the Solution
The second segment highlights the improved safety and efficacy of the new system using Grasping Forceps in action.
Given that the animation will be integrated with actual procedural footage and published in a professional video journal, a realistic style was chosen to seamlessly blend with the live-action content.
